Why should I buy from you when I can get your books much faster from another online retailer?

I’ll be honest – I can’t compete on delivery speed with online retailers. They can ship quickly because they have the financial and logistical resources to do so, basically because they’re BIG! Whereas I’m an independent author using an independent printer, which means we have to do things differently. But by buying directly from me, you will be supporting independent businesses who care about the books they produce. And frankly, the books you will receive from my printer are excellent quality, much better than the books you can get from Amazon's printers.

How does it help the author to buy direct?

It's a matter of control. With my own shop, I'm not dependent on another retailer. I receive royalties weeks faster, which means I am freer to devote the time I need to writing the books you want to read. And while I love the big stores and wouldn’t be without them, the sheer number of books on them makes it more and more difficult for authors like me to be ‘found’. And finally, buying from me direct helps my readers, as I can keep them informed about my books and any promotions/discounts I may be running that aren't available at other retailers.

I'm not in the UK. Why can't I order hardbacks from your store?

My printer, BookVault, doesn't have a print partner abroad that can produce my hardbacks. I could still let you place an order, but the hardback would be printed in the UK and sent from here, which would mean a ridiculously high delivery cost. This is why I only currently offer hardbacks to the UK. If you did want a hardback, non-UK residents can order from another retailer such as Amazon or Barnes & Noble.

Why does it take so long to get print books delivered?

All print copies are printed to order by the printer and sent to you from them. How long it will take for your order to reach you will depend on the shipping rate you choose at Checkout and which country you are in.

Where else can I buy your books?

You can buy my books pretty much anywhere online and in all
formats. All you have to do is search for CK Harewood on your preferred retailer and my books should come up.

Can I order your books from my local bookshop?

Yes, you should be able to. My books are listed in all the usual catalogues that booksellers use.

Can I get your books at my local library?

Yes, you should be able to. You may have to put in a request as they may not be sitting on the shelves, but my books are listed in all the usual catalogues libraries use to place orders.

Why can’t I buy your audiobooks direct?

My audiobooks are in an exclusive agreement with Audible, so I can't sell them on my shop or list them anywhere else.

There is a problem with my order. Can I return it and get a refund?

I want you to be happy with your purchase. If you do have a problem with your order, then contact me and I will do my best to rectify it.

Why can't I get a refund on an eBook?

eBooks (and audiobooks) are digital content and, as such, are delivered instantly via email ready for downloading. Therefore, these items are non-refundable. If, however, there has been an issue in the delivery of your eBook (i.e. you didn't receive the email with the download link), please contact me and I will do my best to resolve the problem.
